How can I apply for patient assistance?

Please begin with the application process by downloading an application from this website or by calling 1-800-222-6885 to have an application mailed or faxed to you. More information is available here.

Do I need to live in the United States to be eligible?

The Humira Patient Assistance Program offers assistance to those who reside in the United States and Puerto Rico. For all other AbbVie Patient Assistance Programs, you must reside in the United States to be eligible.

Is there a fee to apply or for the medication?

No, there is no fee to apply, and there are no co-pays for any medicines that you may receive from our program.

How long does it take to process an application?

If we receive your application with all the the necessary paperwork and signatures, we will usually process it within two business days. If you are approved for assistance, it may take 5-7 business days for you to receive your medication. Please closely review the application before submitting it. Missing or incomplete information, documentation, and signatures often cause delays.

Do I need to provide proof of income?

In most cases we do require proof of income. Please refer to the program application for examples of the different documents that you can submit.

I just lost my job, so my income has decreased. Should I include that on my application?

If you have experienced a recent hardship such as a job loss, please include that information with your application so we can understand your current financial circumstances.

How will I know if I qualify?

Depending on the medication we will contact you and/or your healthcare provider about your eligibility.

How long will it take before I receive my medication?

Once your eligibility is determined, the medication normally ships within 7 days.

Can I apply for more than one medication?

Yes. Please review the application listed under the specific medications you are applying for.
If the application is the same, only one application is needed. If the medications are listed on separate applications, you will need to complete them separately.

What if I do not see my medication listed?

Not all AbbVie medications are available for assistance through the Foundation. Please contact the Foundation directly at 1-800-222-6885 to determine if assistance is available.

What if I have Medicare Part D and still can not afford my medication?

If you are enrolled in Medicare Part D or another insurance program, you may be eligible for assistance on an exception basis. Please call us at 1-800-222-6885 to discuss additional paperwork needed for consideration.

If you are enrolled in Medicare Part D, please download the Part D attestation for the medication you are requesting from the list below. Include the signed Part D attestation with your application and proof of income.
